National Research Corporation CMS Approved for CAHPS for PQRS

National Research announces CMS approval for CAHPS for PQRS; data collection to begin fall 2015.

LINCOLN, Neb., June 25, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- As part of greater undertaking of accountability and transparency throughout healthcare, National Research Corporation is pleased to announce its conditional approval by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) as a CAHPS® for PQRS survey vendor. The approval is contingent upon successful completion of CMS training, which National Research will conclude in July.

As the only such evidence-based research entity that connects person-centered experience measurement across all healthcare and senior care services segments, National Research is the best qualified CAHPS partner to offer worry-free compliance and quality improvement action planning that impacts care coordination referrals and brand reputation.

Beginning in 2015, CAHPS for PQRS will be a mandatory component of the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS), a mandate created by the Affordable Care Act in 2010. All group practices of 100 or more eligible providers (EPs) that register for PQRS by June 30, 2015 are required to participate. Group practices of 2-99 EPs regardless of the reporting option that register for PQRS by June 30, 2015 may optionally participate in CAHPS for PQRS. All participants in the CAHPS for PQRS survey will be required to contract with an approved vendor to administer the CAHPS for PQRS survey to patients. As a pay-for-reporting requirement, if eligible professionals and group practices fail to comply with the rule, they will be subject to the 2017 negative payment adjustment. Group Practices will need to select a CAHPS survey vendor, such as National Research, to participate and preview scores before they are publicly reported. No deadline has been announced for Group Practices to select a vendor for CAHPS for PQRS.
