its sponsorship of the Vitamin K2 Workshop that has been added to the education
agenda for this year’s SupplySide West Global Conference & Expo, the largest
tradeshow for the dietary supplement, food and pharmaceutical industries in the

According to event organizers, Informa, in their announcement of the session,

The session is entitled “Vitamin K2 Workshop: New Findings & Trends for Heart
and Bone Health” will feature the following speakers:

University, and author of Vitamin K2: The Missing Nutrient for Heart and Bone
Health, will address Vitamin K2’s Impact on heart health and how it is being
used in integrative medicine.

• John Abernethy, president of Florida-based AMK Research Inc. will discuss
Energy & Circulatory Wellness: Vitamin K2 has the ability to ameliorate chronic
venous insufficiency, which can address a number of chronic health conditions.

• Leon Schurgers, PhD, associate professor of biochemistry at University
Maastricht and CARIM (Cardiovascular Research Institute Maastricht). will
address Vitamin K2 as being the key vitamin in controlling vascular
calcification, via activation of vitamin K-dependent proteins such as matrix Gla
protein.

• Katarzyna Maresz, PhD, president of the International Science and Health

Foundation, will discuss the essential role Vitamin K2 plays in children’s bone
health, specifically how children have the greatest need for K vitamins and that
statistics indicate that vitamin K consumption is declining in Western
societies.
