WXN Re-Launches Peer Mentoring Program for Professional and Executive Women

New Look and Feel for 2016

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - November 18, 2015) - The Women's Executive Network (WXN) is delighted to announce the re-launch of one of their Mentoring offerings: Wisdom Peer Mentoring. WXN offers world-class mentoring programs for women in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors to provide networking as well as personal and career development. Throughout the programs' ten year history, over 600 female leaders have participated, joining an intimate and confidential peer group in a program that is presented across Canada.

Presented in partnership with Executive Coaches, the program provides participants the same intimate and confidential experience as before, but with new benefits. Members participate in five sessions, each three hours in length, which now includes a social hour to end off the program. The introduction of professional themes to each session is also a new addition, and one that Jenn Lofgren of Incito Consulting is excited to see. "I see it at every level of leadership and across all industries, leaders challenged with the same themes: career direction and growth, leadership development, corporate culture, and work-life blend. I'm excited to push this exceptional program to a new level through deepening our focus in these critical development areas."

With feedback from hundreds of women across Canada and with the support of the regional coaches, each session will now focus on subject matter that is relevant to women at any stage in their career. "I have had the privilege of working with an incredible number of professional women from various industries through this program. Despite working for different organizations, I am struck by how many share similar concerns and have questions about the same topics," says Dana Janzen of Coaching 4 Results. "With each of the five sessions focused on a common theme, the members are able to listen to the experience and viewpoints of others, explore their options and learn how to step confidently forward with a clear goal for their careers."

The program also has a new home with its new venue partner, Regus. Members will now meet in beautiful and convenient downtown locations in markets that the program is offered: Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.

In a recent survey sent to WXN members, 92% of those surveyed believed that mentorship or sponsorship is critical to their career advancement. Those same members believe that group mentoring is crucial as it provides an opportunity to learn more, hear different perspectives and allows for better networking.

By joining a Peer Mentoring group, participants have the opportunity to exchange ideas, share successes and challenges, make strategic contacts and receive feedback on professional strategies from other like-minded female leaders.
