Stark redesign of Grayson's online presence improves communication

Major overhaul draws parents in

LEITCHFIELD, Ky., Jan. 29, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Grayson County Schools starts off 2016 with the launch of a redesigned website.

The tailor-made site, complete with a new domain and entirely new look, debuted this month. The overhaul, created and developed by eSchoolView, a Columbus-Ohio based company, brings a dramatic new appearance and function to the district's web presence.

"We wanted to freshen up our look and provide information to parents, students and community," Public Information Officer Caryn Lewis said. "We've had positive feedback and people appreciate the modern design."

Intuitive navigation, an emphasis on crisp graphics and the prominent role of the photo gallery are key elements to the new design. Less emphasis on text also increases interaction between the site and end-user.

"It's an easy-to-use website," Lewis said. "The information is communicated up-front and if people want to learn more it's easy to find."

The new domain is GraysonCountySchools.com and is one of about two dozen launches or relaunches this month from eSchoolView. Grayson Schools previously worked with SchoolDesk.

"Our job is to create state-of-the-art tools that help school systems build bridges to their communities," Executive Director Rob O'Leary said. "We spend a great deal of time working with our clients in order to develop the right package of products to meet their needs."

The mobile performance of Grayson County Schools' new site has also improved dramatically with eSchoolView's responsive design. It is optimized to display on a variety of platforms and can be accessed through eSchoolView's KnowItAll app which is available for free in the IOS and Android app stores.

eSchoolView builds custom websites for K-12 schools — public, private, charter and faith-based — with its easy-to-use Content Management System (CMS) and other integrated products. The CMS platform also expands Grayson's reach with the ability to embed blogs, surveys, RSS feeds, e-newsletters, podcasts and videos.

eSchoolView was created in 2008. Since then, its revenue growth lands the company near the top third (at 1907) of Inc. Magazine's 5000 list of fastest growing privately held companies in the U.S. for the second consecutive year.
