National Patient Safety Foundation to Host Patient Safety Awareness Week Webinar, Featuring Officials from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

Speakers will address the topic Patient Safety Is a Public Health Issue


BOSTON, March 1, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In conjunction with Patient Safety Awareness Week (March 13-19), the National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF) will host a complimentary webinar – titled "Patient Safety Is a Public Health Issue." This educational event will bring together top leaders to discuss what is being done to ensure safety of patients from a national perspective. The webcast will take place on Thursday, March 17, from 1-2 pm (EST).

Featured speakers will include the following:

  • Jeff Brady, MD, MPH, Director of the Center for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality
  • Patrick Conway, MD, Deputy Administrator for Innovation & Quality and Chief Medical Officer at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
  • Tejal K. Gandhi, MD, MPH, CPPS, President and CEO of the National Patient Safety Foundation
  • Arjun Srinivasan, MD (CAPT, USPHS), Associate Director for Healthcare Associated Infection Prevention Programs in the Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
