Napoli Shkolnik PLLC Hires D.C. Lobbyists On Behalf of Flint Water Crisis Victims

The Firm Is Representing Approximately 1000 Flint, Michigan Residents

NEW YORK, NY --(Marketwired - March 18, 2016) - As reported by The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, Politico, The Hill and other news outlets, Napoli Shkolnik PLLC has hired Washington Lobbyists to push Congress to create a victim compensation fund for people affected by the Michigan city's contaminated drinking water.

If approved by Congress, the fund could draw from federal and state money to pay for residents' health costs.

The Flint water crisis has made national headlines after the City of Flint switched to a new water source as a money-saving measure. However officials failed to treat the water to avoid lead in the pipes from contaminating the water, as required under the Safe Drinking Water Act. This lead to thousands of residents being exposed to dangerous levels of lead.

Napoli Shkolnik PLLC has filed several lawsuits on behalf of families with who have children suffering from lead poisoning. "Lead poisoning is an insidious disease," says Partner Hunter Shkolnik. "We know the brain is permanently and irreversibly damaged but it doesn't manifest itself immediately. These children have been pushed so far down now they cannot ever achieve what was expected of them."
