XSplit Broadcaster Adopts NewTek NDI for IP Production Workflow

HONG KONG, CHINA--(Marketwired - April 12, 2016) - SplitmediaLabs developers of popular live streaming and recording applications, XSplit Broadcaster and XSplit Gamecaster today announced its adoption of NewTek's open Network Device Interface (NDI™) standard for IP-based production workflows for XSplit Broadcaster. With NDI enabled, XSplit Broadcaster will be recognizable as a source by other NDI-enabled devices and systems connected to a standard Ethernet local area network, exponentially increasing the number of video sources available for live production.

By implementing NDI's network discovery and ultra low latency compression technology in XSplit Broadcaster, content creators will be able to add remote sources into their own production, including other XSplit Broadcaster instances within the network, augmenting their broadcast by enabling tighter collaboration and offering additional IP production pipelines via NDI-supported solutions from NewTek, Teradek, and Blackmagic Design to name a few.

This new standard for live production IP workflow is bi-directional and backwards compatible with a large number of devices from top manufacturers already utilizing NewTek's open protocol allowing IP connectivity between devices. Customers using XSplit Broadcaster will be able to utilize the many products in the NewTek Developer Network, the industry's largest ecosystem of IP-enabled products using the same standard.

"For XSplit Broadcaster to remain on the cutting edge of affordable professional live stream production software, it was only natural to integrate NewTek's NDI into our software," says Miguel Molina, Product Manager of XSplit. "The future of live production will undoubtedly be shaped by the use of cost efficient IP-based workflows and we are pleased to be a part of the technology's landmark roll-out."

"We are confident that IP workflows will revolutionise video production," said Michael Kornet, executive vice president of Business Development for NewTek. "XSplit is highly respected both at NewTek and by a massive community of content creators. With SplitmediaLabs enthusiastically embracing NDI, their products and customers will help make NDI the most widely adopted IP standard on the market."

NDI is now available as a royalty free software developer kit (SDK) for any company looking to establish IP workflows within their organization, or in production tools and systems they manufacture.
