IDRF Announces Fundraising and Mother's Day Dinner for Syrian Refugees


HALIFAX, NS--(Marketwired - May 03, 2016) - IDRF (International Development and Relief Foundation) are happy to announce a Fundraising and Mother's Day Dinner for Syrian Refugees to bring to the forefront a great cause and educate over 1,000 Syrian children at a school in Reyhanli, Turkey.

The plight of Syrian refugees in Reyhanli, Turkey is that they are in desperate need of an education. The Al Salam School is trying to educate over 1,200 children ages 6-15. IDRF have partnered with the Al Salam school and are happy to announce that on Sunday May 8th, they are having a Fundraising Dinner in Halifax, Nova Scotia to bring awareness and support to this great cause.

IDRF, with the help of the Al Salam School in Reyhanli, Turkey, would like your help to continue to empower and educate these children so they can have a better life and give meaning to the next generation of Syrians. The school is in need for more accommodations with the growing number of Syrian refugees. With the prime focus on educating, shelter and safety it is roughly estimated that 1 to 3 million Syrian refugees are not getting an education. So please join us and bring awareness to this great cause.

The Al Salam school was founded by Syrian Canadians who try to offer humanitarian relief and social services to Syrian refugees from different backgrounds, sects, and religions. The school has 53 teachers and a combined 64 employees, who are all Syrian refugees.
