Quotes:
"Our Government is providing Canadians not only with safe, affordable housing, but also with the jobs and opportunities they need. Rental assistance programs in Prince Edward Island give low-income households more options. They are flexible, giving Islanders the choice of where they want to live and the cash assistance helps with housing costs." - Sean Casey, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, Member of Parliament for Charlottetown, on behalf of the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and Minister Responsible for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation
"The Province of Prince Edward Island is excited to be working in partnership with the federal government through the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation to ensure affordable, appropriate housing is available for Islanders who are most in need. We recognize that there are gaps for specific groups of our population and we are pleased to be able to provide additional supports through rent supplements for individuals who are dealing with disabilities or mental health and addictions illnesses. Rent supplements are an excellent way to offer this support because they provide timely access to existing units across the province." - The Honourable Tina Mundy, Minister of Family and Human Services, MLA for Summerside - St. Eleanors
