Jason Leupold Joins 361 Capital

New Vice President of Trading and Research will support firm’s continued growth

DENVER, May 11, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- 361 Capital, an award-winning* investment firm specializing in alternative mutual funds, has named Jason Leupold as its new Vice President of Trading and Research.

In this role, Leupold will collaborate closely with the other members of the investment team to research market opportunities and identify trading strategies that systematically exploit inefficiencies, thus helping the firm deliver better investing outcomes for advisors and their clients.

Leupold most recently served as a research analyst and market strategist with Boulder, Colorado-based Arches Asset Management, where he specialized in exploiting trends in the commodities market. Leupold also spent nine years working with Crabel Capital Management, overseeing the firm’s Asian trade desk and foreign exchange desk, and developing models for inclusion in Crabel’s portfolios.

“We’re excited to welcome Jason to the 361 Capital team,” said Clifford Stanton, 361 Capital’s Chief Investment Officer. “Jason brings nearly 15 years of investment experience and will be able to add new perspectives on our research methodologies, trading platform, and product development approach.”

Leupold’s addition will also support 361 Capital’s continued growth. In April, the firm launched its 361 Domestic Long/Short Equity Fund, the fifth in its collection of alternative mutual fund offerings.

The potential loss from a short sale is theoretically unlimited since the appreciation of the underlying asset also is theoretically unlimited. Frequent trading by the Fund may reduce returns and increase the number of taxable transactions. Concentration of its portfolio in relatively few issuers may make the Fund more volatile than a diversified fund.
