PowerStream Bills Available Even With Mail Delivery Delays

Electric Utility Encouraging Customers to Use Website, eBilling and Customer Service

VAUGHAN, ON--(Marketwired - July 05, 2016) - Due to a Canada Post service disruption and expected delay in mail delivery that could begin as early as Friday, PowerStream is encouraging customers to use alternative methods to access their bill information and make payments.

As with other service providers, customers of the utility, which serves eleven communities in York Region and Simcoe County, are responsible for keeping their PowerStream account current. Customers can stay current during the postal disruption by registering to access the 'My Account' area of the PowerStream website at www.PowerStream.ca, where they can view their account balance as well as download or print copies of their bills. They also have the option to sign up for 'eBilling' to receive bill notifications by email.

Alternatively, PowerStream customers can obtain account balances, due dates and inquire about bill payment options by contacting the company's Customer Service department by phone at 1-877-963-6900 or by email at CustomerService@PowerStream.ca.

Payment options include telephone and Internet banking, pre-authorized payments, or in person at financial institutions as well as PowerStream cashier and after-hours drop box locations available at the following addresses:

  • Barrie - 55 Patterson Road
  • Markham - Markham Civic Centre, 101 Town Centre Boulevard
  • Vaughan - Vaughan City Hall, 2141 Major Mackenzie Drive
  • Vaughan - PowerStream Head Office, 161 Cityview Boulevard

Hours of operation and directions for these locations are listed in the Contact Us section of the PowerStream website.

QUOTES

  • "More than 125,000 of our customers have registered for My Account on our website and now enjoy the convenience of having 24-hour access to their accounts as well as the opportunity to utilize our eBilling service," said Linas Medelis, Vice President, Customer Service. "If there is a Canada Post service disruption we anticipate the number of customers using our online services to increase significantly, similar to what occurred in response to the 2011 postal disruption."
