BILLINGS, Mont., July 08, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The fight against breast cancer in Montana received yet another big boost recently, after check presentations to the St. Vincent Healthcare Foundation, Clark Fork Valley Hospital, Cancer Support Community of Montana and the Kalispell Regional Healthcare Foundation, totaling $23,500.

“This gift goes toward the annual women’s retreat, which helps women in all stages of cancer—survivors and fighters—through their journey,” says Jeannie Gracie, Development Director for the Cancer Support Community of Montana. “The retreat provides three full-time nurses to care for patients currently battling cancer.”

The Pink Ribbon Debit Card is free and available with all Rocky Mountain Bank personal checking accounts. “Each time a customer swipes their card to make a purchase, the bank makes a 2.5-cent contribution to the St. Vincent Healthcare Foundation, Clark Fork Valley Hospital, Cancer Support Community of Montana or the Kalispell Regional Healthcare Foundation,” says Curtis Chrystal, President and CEO of Rocky Mountain Bank. “This year, our customers took 942,398 swipes! We are honored to contribute to our community and the cause.”

Since the launch of the Pink Ribbon Debit Card in 2012, community members “took swipes against breast cancer” and Rocky Mountain Bank has contributed more than $58,500—and counting—to breast cancer detection and prevention in Montana. The bank’s parent organization, Heartland Financial USA, Inc., has contributed more than $270,000 to cancer support groups since 2012.

“Support from local-minded organizations like Rocky Mountain Bank are making it possible for women in our county to get necessary screenings and breast care services when they are financially unable to do so on their own,” says Tonya Revier, Marketing and Communications Relations Coordinator for Clark Fork Valley Hospital. “This shows dedication to our community and residents.”
