DANBURY, Conn., Aug. 09, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ethan Allen (NYSE:ETH) becomes latest retailer to take up residence in New York City’s Flatiron District. Its new Design Center, located at 915 Broadway near East 21st street, is a stunning, nearly 12,000-square-foot, urban-centric space, which occupies two floors in the Tudor-inspired building, complete with pointed archways and high-relief sculptures.

The Flatiron District—also referred to as NoMad (North of Madison Square Park), a culturally diverse area that includes some of the city's most acclaimed restaurants, renowned shopping destinations, and well-known architectural attractions, has a bourgeoning residential community that brings added vitality to the neighborhood.

“We’re extremely pleased to be opening a second location in Manhattan,” says Ethan Allen Chairman, President and CEO Farooq Kathwari. “It’s the right place and the right time to bring our diversity of styles and our personalized design service to a new demographic.”

The Design Center has a classic casual-meets-industrial aesthetic. Bright white paint is complemented with sleek limestone floors and dramatic black carpeting. High ceilings and huge factory windows bring in lots of light and keep the space feeling open and airy.

Technology is a major focus. A massive nine-screen LED display positioned behind the reception desk creates a high-energy vibe. Visible from the street, it tempts passerby to step inside and discover the relaxed, relevant looks Ethan Allen has to offer. Six large touchscreens make it easy for shoppers to browse the company’s entire assortment of furniture and décor.

Products on the showroom floor were selected to appeal to busy city-dwellers. The company’s Custom Quick Ship Upholstery, which offers the luxury of hand-tailored seating, is delivered in 30 days or less. There is also a beautiful array of furniture and upholstery options designed for small spaces.

Providing great service is a top priority. The Design Center is staffed with 16 design professionals, 2 managers, and an outstanding support team. Whether a client is looking to make over an entire room or to find the little gems that give his or her space personality, these experts are ready to help as little or as much as the client would like.

“We’re thrilled to call the iconic Flatiron District our new home,” says Amy Franks, Vice President of Retail for the company’s Northeast Region. “At Ethan Allen, we strive to provide an exceptional client experience. That’s why we’ve brought great products with an urban attitude, a team focused on helping clients as little or as much as they’d like, and the latest technology to the Design Center at 915 Broadway.”

And stay tuned! This fall, more design magic arrives at the Design Center as the company unveils its exciting new Ethan Allen I Disney Collection
