Concordia University of Edmonton is Expected to Announce a New President Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 23, 2016


EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Aug. 22, 2016) - The Board of Governors met on Friday to make the final candidate selection, following an in- depth presidential search. Having spent the past few months deliberating, evaluating and meeting with a number of highly qualified candidates, the Board of Governors pared down the selection to two candidates, who were invited to make public presentations regarding their vision for Concordia University of Edmonton, during the week of August 8, 2016.

Current President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Gerald S. Krispin, will be concluding his second five-year term in the role and announced his retirement earlier this year.

Dr. Krispin has been dedicated to Concordia University of Edmonton throughout his career, both as a professor and as the President and Vice-Chancellor. His vision, passion and leadership has propelled the university to its current standing within the post-secondary community. It has a reputation as an excellent teaching university, as well as an institution where research and community engagement are actively pursued. Students come from all over Canada to attend this small, intimate university community, and with international partners in over 40 countries around the world, it is viewed as a global educational destination as well.
