Actiance Launches Safe Landing Program for Autonomy Customers

Program Provides Cost Effective Transition to Alcatraz, Actiance's Context-Aware(TM) Archive

REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 29, 2016) - In response to Hewlett-Packard Enterprise's (HPE) recent announcement to divest itself of all "non-core assets," Actiance, the leader in communications compliance, archiving, and analytics, today launched its Autonomy Safe Landing Program. The limited-time offer provides a fast and cost-effective path for customers to move from Autonomy to Actiance Alcatraz, the industry's first Context-Aware™ cloud archive. Following HPE's divestiture of HP Autonomy, its information governance solution, HPE customers are potentially stranded with no clear transition path to support their archiving needs now and into the future. With Actiance's program, Autonomy customers can easily transition to Alcatraz and continue to meet their existing retention and compliance policies, while benefiting from an archive that natively supports new communications and analytics workloads.

The divestiture of widely used products commonly leads to a degradation of product support, the end of innovative roadmaps, and potentially the termination of products. For customers who currently rely on Autonomy to control, retain and protect company data, this announcement leads to risk and uncertainty about how they will continue to comply with critical information governance policies.

Alcatraz is the industry's first web-scale cloud archive designed from the ground up to store email and social communications in context. With ultra-fast search, high-performance ingest and exports, and robust APIs it delivers rapid eDiscovery, next generation supervisory/surveillance workflows, and robust analytics with insights on what's being captured.

"Customers trapped in legacy platforms need a way to securely transfer historical data to an archive for ongoing maintenance as well as secure storage as data volume continues to grow," said Angela Gelnaw, senior research analyst at IDC. "Business leaders faced with this type of uncertainty can look to solutions, like this one from Actiance, as a means to help manage this type of shift."

Companies are already making the move to Alcatraz and realizing the value of a solution built from the ground up to handle today's complex communications data that extends beyond traditional email. With Alcatraz, organizations have a single, unified view of all communications thereby accelerating supervision, eDiscovery, and analytics.

"We were already planning to move from Autonomy to Alcatraz. This news only validates our decision for a solution that is better suited for our exploding data loads and our future requirements around analytics," said managing director, Global Bank. "Thanks to Actiance's new program, we have the confidence that what is typically a risky, costly, and time-consuming migration process will be a seamless transition. We're excited to take advantage of the Safe Landing Program and work with Actiance, a company that is dedicated to anticipating and delivering on customers' needs."

The Autonomy Safe Landing Program is available to Autonomy customers now. With this program, organizations using Autonomy will have access to:

  • Annual service credits to offset the cost of Autonomy migration fees
  • No-cost policy migration to migrate retention, legal hold, and supervision policies
  • No-cost health check to plan your migration
  • Complimentary training programs for end-users, legal, and supervisory staff

"With regulatory scrutiny keeping pace alongside the rapid adoption of new communications channels, companies need to be proactive about adopting governance solutions that help them stay ahead of compliance and lower their risk for fines and penalties," said Kailash Ambwani, president and CEO, Actiance. "Traditional archives are not built to handle the exponential increase in communications data volumes. Alcatraz is a web-scale archive with advanced supervisory features, open APIs, and analytics support that was purpose-built to meet today's rigorous compliance demands."
