BETHESDA, MD--(Marketwired - Dec 13, 2016) - Bethesda Marriott welcomed David Child to the position of General Manager on Nov. 12, 2016. This premier Bethesda hotel prides itself on the expertise and community involvement of its team, exemplified by the addition of Child.

Child brings 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Huddersfield in England. He began his career at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. serving in food and beverage as well as sales management positions. Child went on to become the Director of Food and Beverage Management at the Renaissance Westchester Hotel in West Harrison, New York, eventually rising to the position of Director of Operations. 

Child's accomplished career continued when he moved back to Washington, D.C., as Director of Food and Beverage at the Renaissance Washington, D.C., Dupont Circle and the Hotel Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Washington, D.C. During his time at The Ritz-Carlton, Child became a cultural ambassador for The Ritz-Carlton Leadership Center and increased customer satisfaction ratings for the property. Most recently, Child returned to the Renaissance Washington, D.C., Dupont Circle where he set profit and revenue records as the General Manager. In addition to his years of professional service to the D.C. Metro area, Child gives back to his community as a member of the Board of Directors for Boys Town.
