Community Hospitals Increase Revenue Stream Under ACO Model and Improve MACRA Performance

Caravan Health will present “Impact of Successful ACO Participation on Community Hospital Financial Performance” on April 24, 2017

Kansas City,

Kansas City, MO, April 06, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- With the deadline approaching to be considered in a 2018 Accountable Care Organization (ACO), Caravan Health, the market leader in ACOs and value-based payments, will present a one-hour webcast exploring the financial impact of community hospitals participating in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP).

“Impact of Successful ACO Participation on Community Hospital Financial Performance,” will feature Lynn Barr, CEO & Founder of Caravan Health, along with a panel of hospital CEOs, as they discuss the substantial revenue increase of community hospitals who participated in the 2016 MSSP. Barr will outline how providers overcame challenges to transform their health care delivery system, resulting in lowered costs and improved primary care.

“Our data shows that population health is a great business model for community hospitals,” says Ms. Barr. “Our most successful ACO was comprised of seven community hospitals who increased their revenue stream by $30 million this past year and reduced costs by 8.4% for Medicare. Many providers are hesitant the MSSP model won’t work in their system, however Caravan Health’s proven results show hospitals can achieve the financial performance needed to stay independent and sustainable, while protecting community physicians from negative adjustments under MACRA.”

Caravan Health, who currently supports 160 community hospitals and 250 practices in 23 Medicare Shared Savings Program ACOs, offers guidance and technical assistance for community hospitals and clinicians who want to transition to value-based reimbursements. Ms. Barr encourages all interested ACO participants to submit a non-binding Letter of Intent through the Caravan Health website at as soon as possible. The deadlines for 2018 participation are rapidly approaching.

The webinar will take place Monday, April 24 at 9 a.m. PT/11 a.m. CT/12 p.m. ET.  Participants may register at
