Madison Investments Announces A Landmark New Project on 14th Street, NW in The Nation’s Capital

Washington, DC, June 13, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Madison Investments, the family owned and operated real estate development firm located in the nation’s capital, is pleased to announce they are the winners of the request for proposal (RFP) and have gone under contract to purchase two important buildings in the vibrant 14 Street corridor of the nation’s capital, at 2114 and 2120 14th Street, NW, 20009.  These landmark addresses are currently the property of Martha’s Table, and this sale of its 14th street headquarters is expected to close in the fall of 2018.

Since opening its doors in 1980, Martha's Table has supported stronger children, stronger families, and stronger communities by increasing access to quality education programs, healthy food, and family supports in Washington, D.C.  The organization's work stems from the belief that every child deserves the opportunity for their brightest future and a deeply engaged family and community committed to their success.

“14th Street has been our home for nearly four decades and the site carries great meaning for us and for many of our neighbors - many of whom have also been here for a long time,” states Patty Stonesifer, president and CEO of Martha’s Table.  “As we further our mission in two new locations, it was important to us and to our community to choose a buyer committed to being a steward of preserving the historic integrity of the neighborhood.  The Madani family assured us of that - and their work in this neighborhood reinforces that for us.”

“We are extremely excited and honored to have been selected to purchase and develop this site. Our intention is to develop something that gives a nod to the past, while embracing the future, as we continue to bring positive change to the neighborhood,” states Barry Madani, co-founder of Madison Investments.  “We are still working through the final programming for the site, but at this point, one can expect a mixed-use development with a large retail component.”

Sia Madani and Barry Madani founded Madison Investments in early 2006 with a small four-unit apartment project in Capitol Hill.  From there the company performed a number of successful projects and won multiple awards. The most recent projects have been a LEED Certified ground up, 56-unit project at 1925 14th Street NW, called Elysium Fourteen, and the Lawrence House, an award-winning historic renovation of an existing property transforming it into a 30-unit condo building that overlooks Meridian Hill Park. Currently Madison Investments has two on-going ground-up condo projects that are underway: the 32-unit, ultra-luxury eight-story project called Elysium Logan at 1427 Rhode Island Ave NW, 20005 which is anticipated to be completed in August 2017 just steps away from 14th Street’s amenities, and a 49-unit project a couple of blocks from Barracks row in Capitol Hill called Kipling House, located at 900 11th Street, SE, 20003.

Madison Investments' philosophy and approach to each development is to combine elegant design with purpose and function. Every property is developed with a great deal of attention to details with exquisitely designed common areas and all of this is brought about through careful collaboration with designers, architects and consultants.
