Supply Chain Veteran Stuart Reichenbach Joins ClearMetal

Former VF Corp. and UPS Executive Brings Deep Supply Chain Expertise to Help Deliver Predictive Logistics

SAN FRANCISCO, July 25, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ClearMetal, a predictive logistics company, has appointed former VF Corp. and UPS executive Stuart Reichenbach to the role of vice president of supply chain development to expand its Data Intelligence Platform for shippers, freight forwarder / 3PLs, terminal operators and carriers.

During the previous 10 years, Reichenbach served in various supply chain leadership roles at VF Corporation. Most recently, he served as vice president of supply chain responsible for transportation, logistics, network optimization and direct-to-consumer fulfillment. Prior to that, he spent 17 years at UPS in several supply chain leadership positions.

As retailers continue to face immense pressures from customer demands and the Amazon-effect, the supply chain has become a battleground for competitive differentiation. Supply chains are tasked with delivering omnichannel execution without increasing inventory levels and lead times. Traditional tools and methods are insufficient. But developments in machine learning and artificial intelligence have opened the door to new data-centric strategies that enable shippers to fundamentally improve certainty, and therefore the reliability of their supply chains. Highly accurate predictive visibility into shipment flows enables smarter decisions that can impact margins without sacrificing service levels.

“Traditionally, supply chains have deployed significant resources in terms of dollars and human capital, to deal with uncertainties and inefficiencies,” said Reichenbach. “The differentiating factor in the future will be the ability to harness innovative technologies like AI and machine learning to operate smarter. Industry knowledge and capabilities, combined with innovative data-intelligence technology, is at the core of this new order in the industry.”

Reichenbach will head up ClearMetal’s efforts to apply its Data Intelligence Platform to the pressing needs of today’s global supply chain leaders.

“Stuart brings an unparalleled depth of industry knowledge to ClearMetal, alongside our deep and fast-growing bench of technology and logistics expertise,” said Adam Compain, CEO of ClearMetal. “His move to join our team represents the industry’s change at large: traditional supply chain and technology are becoming increasingly interwoven; executives have awoken to the dire need for data intelligence as this era of predictive logistics is upon us. Stuart will play an increasingly pivotal role in shaping the future of our solutions - and the industry - as we continue to deliver data science and AI-based solutions to our customers.”
