Napoli Shkolnik PLLC Files Lawsuits Against Popular Weed Killer Linked to Cancer

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - September 07, 2017) - The Law Firm of Napoli Shkolnik PLLC has begun filing lawsuits for those who have contracted Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL) as a result of being exposed to glyphosate -- the active ingredient in Roundup®.

The case of Baker, et al. v. Monsanto Company was filed in the Superior Court of the State of Delaware under Case No. N17C-08-348 on August 29, 2017. The lawsuit claims that Monsanto should be held liable for failing to warn our client of the known dangers of Roundup, as well as alleging that Roundup is a defective product given its unreasonable danger to its users. The Complaint states that Mr. Baker developed NHL as a result of his using and being exposed to the chemical pesticide, Roundup.

Even incredibly small doses of exposure to this herbicide can trigger irreversible health problems. In part due to its widespread use by farmers, agricultural workers and greenhouse employees, the State of California added glyphosate under Proposition 65 to the list of chemicals known to cause cancer in July 2017.

In 2015, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the specialized cancer agency of the World Health Organization, assessed the carcinogenicity of glyphosate and determined that it is "probably carcinogenic to humans."

"It is appalling that Monsanto did not properly warn individuals of the huge risk associated with using their product," says Napoli Shkolnik environmental attorney Tate J. Kunkle. "It's possible that our client and others could have avoided the life-threatening injuries they are now experiencing," he added.

We encourage individuals to contact a medical professional and our office if s/he or a loved one has been exposed to glyphosate and has been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
