New Jersey State Senator Troy Singleton to be Honored at Women’s Political Caucus of NJ

EDISON, N.J., Feb. 08, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- This evening, New Jersey State Senator Troy Singleton will receive the “Good Guy” Award, presented by the Women’s Political Caucus of New Jersey. Singleton, who is also Director of Operations at Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters (NRCC), will accept the award during a ceremony held at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

The event, which will honor four other recipients, recognizes Singleton for his work throughout the state of New Jersey and for his dedication in bettering local communities, creating job stability and focusing on the needs of the state’s working families. Singleton has held an elected position within the state of New Jersey since 2011.

Singleton, who was recently sworn in as a New Jersey State Senator representing the 7th Legislative District, is an active member in his community and contributes to a number of projects like the Habitat for Humanity.

As the Director of Operations of NRCC, he is responsible for the implementation of special projects including: the NRCC Scholarship Fund that provides school scholarships to the children and grandchildren of Union carpenters; Citizen Carpenter Program, which annually recognizes carpenters who contribute to their community; and overall Council operations, such as ensuring NRCC facilities are outfitted with the latest technology. Singleton also provides administrative oversight and is a trustee of Local 491.

“Receiving this award is truly humbling,” said Singleton. “Anytime we are acknowledged for our public service both politically and professionally, it is a great honor, all while advocating for causes that change the lives of the citizens of New Jersey.”

Other award recipients throughout the evening will include: Mary Kay Roberts (Mary Philbrook Award); Murray E. Bevan (Good Guy Award); and Hackensack Meridian Health (Corporate Award).
