Armanino Foundation Raises $500K Ahead of 2-Year Anniversary and Announces Newest Grant Recipients


Firm’s 2019 Volunteer Vacations Set to Assist in Thailand, Florida, Oregon and Catalina Island

SAN RAMON, Calif., Oct. 30, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --  Armanino LLP, one of the top 25 largest accounting and business consulting firms in the U.S., today announced its philanthropic giving arm, the Armanino Foundation, has raised a total of $500,000 as it marks its two-year anniversary of overall operation. The Foundation also announced its list of selected charitable organizations for its Q3 grant disbursement and 2019 Volunteer Vacation projects.

The Armanino Foundation continues to be an extension of our values as a firm that allows us to give back to organizations that make a positive impact on our communities.”

Volunteer Vacations are sponsored trips for firm staff to work on a range of community projects, such as environmental cleanup, disaster recovery and programs for children, seniors and other vulnerable groups. Next year, firm staff will have the option of teaching English to children in Thailand, operating a family resort in Florida for children with life-threatening illnesses, and completing conservation efforts at Camassia Natural Area in Oregon and Catalina Island Conservancy near Los Angeles. The Foundation recently provided $20,525 in grants to 17 organizations in the areas of health and social services, education, animal welfare and the arts.

The Q3 2018 grant recipients include:

  • American Heart Association – Funds innovative research, advocacy and patient support for those suffering from heart disease and strokes.
  • Assistance League of Los Angeles – Dedicated to improving the lives of impoverished children in the community through philanthropy, dedicated service and compassionate programs.
  • Ballet Theatre San Luis Obispo – Functions as a performing company and a dance school passionate about providing an outlet to learn and watch ballet and other dance techniques for the community.  
  • 13th Street Cat Rescue – Committed to bettering the lives of feral and social cats while controlling the population by the use of trap-neuter-return (TNR).
  • Dependency Advocacy Center – Provides free legal services to indigent parents and children involved in Santa Clara County’s child welfare system.
  • Hispanic Scholarship Fund – Empowers Latino families with the knowledge and resources to successfully complete higher education.
  • Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation – Funds Type 1 diabetes research and advocates for regulation favorable to medical research that makes it easier to market new medical devices.
  • JW House – Keeps families together during medical crisis by offering a welcoming home close to the hospital and providing a caring and compassionate environment that inspires hope.
  • L.A. Kitchen – Reclaims food that would otherwise go to waste, provides culinary job training to unemployed men and women, and distributes nutritious meals to Los Angeles residents.  
  • Lincoln Training Center – Fosters independence and improved quality of life for individuals with disadvantages or developmental disabilities by providing programs that integrate them into the workforce and teach them how to thrive and build relationships within the community.
  • Lone Star Wind Orchestra – Changes lives through inspired collaborations, exceptional mentoring of musicians, unforgettable performances and inclusive community engagement.
  • Love On 4 Paws – Provides animal-assisted therapy for adults and special needs children in hospitals and health care facilities, along with schools and community events.
  • Morning Star Outreach – Helps middle school youth living in abuse, neglect and poverty learn how to reshape their lives and see a hopeful future through programs and camps.
  • NatureBridge – Provides hands-on environmental science programs for children and teens to connect them to the science and wonder of the natural world.
  • Sante D’Or Foundation – Animal adoption center run by volunteers that provides a place for animals who would otherwise be euthanized due to overpopulation in local shelters.
  • Shasta Community Disaster Relief Fund – Relief efforts for the Carr Fire that began west of the Redding, CA area on July 23, 2018.
  • Urban Partners Los Angeles – Offers a variety of educational lessons to adults and kids, distributes groceries to those in need, and enables the community to engage with civic leaders to form connections and networking abilities.
