Nytec CTO Terry O’Shea Shares Secrets to Designing IoT Systems for the Lowest Total Cost of Ownership

Meet Him at IoT Tech Expo North America November 28, 2018

KIRKLAND, Wash., Nov. 26, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --

What: Learn what it takes to develop IoT systems that transform businesses. The purpose for developing any IoT system is efficacy, cost savings, safety, process flow checking, or regulatory mandates. Because the greatest value in the IoT system lies in what’s extracted from the data, how you design a system to send that data to the cloud can make or break your deployment and your business.

Why: Terry O’Shea has more than 20 years of experience and is considered a pioneer in the field of Internet of Things (IoT) and Wearables for various vertical applications.  Terry will present case studies of integrated left to right designed IoT systems and contrast them with right to left designed systems and explain which one will lower your total cost.

When: Wednesday, November 28, 2018; 4:00 pm, PT

Where: IoT Tech Expo, Santa Clara Convention Center, CA, USA

Who: Terry O’Shea, CTO Nytec, Inc. has over 70 issued patents, 2 books, 100+ technical articles and delivered 50+ keynotes.  In his previous position as the CTO for The Safariland Group (TSG), Terry created the auto-activation system for body worn cameras creating a new $70M market in 6 months.

Before joining TSG, Terry was the HP Fellow and VP in charge of wearables. In this role he co-founded and created HP’s wearables team and business - producing over 12 different smartwatches, 39 different SKUs, 19 different accessories, and 22 distinct smart phone applications. Additionally, he created three other smart system business solutions, all from the ground up by creating a smart systems platform in less than three years.

Before departing HP he laid the technology framework for an enterprise office wearable which will propel HP Inc. into a market leadership position for the future.  Prior to HP, Terry was at Intel Corporation, where he created, developed and drove the creation of five sensor platforms. These platforms were out-licensed to various small businesses creating a continuous pull for information systems. Each of these sensor suites included at least ten different product offerings of fully developed, certified and field-tested end-to-end systems. These end-to-end systems included the IoT or wearable devices, client or aggregator software, and cloud server data storage with analytics.
