The Burchell Nursery Announces the Launch of Its Give & Grow Hope Tree Gifting Program

Helping communities to plant trees to give hope that tomorrow will be filled with goodness

OAKDALE, Calif., Nov. 29, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Burchell Nursery Inc. announced today it has launched a new tree gifting program to empower people to be part of the solution, helping others to be self sustaining and giving them a renewed sense of hope.

The Give & Grow Hope program will gift trees to communities and organizations across the country to help eliminate food insecurity by providing access to healthy food they can grow themselves.

In 2010 Tom Burchell launched Tomorrow's Harvest, the retail division of the company. Tomorrow's Harvest offers everything from fruit to nut trees, herbs to ornamentals, shrubs to strawberries, lingonberries to lavender, all having been carefully cultivated for the home orchardist and gardener.

With the success of the Tomorrow's Harvest brand in retail stores across the country and online, Burchell sought to find a way to give back to the communities and to the people who have supported his business endeavors. Burchell says, "while on vacation I began to think about the creation of what has become our Give & Grow Hope program.”

For every Tomorrow's Harvest tree purchased, the company will donate a tree through its Give & Grow Hope program to a deserving community group to provide access to fresh fruit so people can enjoy delicious fruit filled recipes like the ones Tom did growing up. With a 75-plus year history, Burchell is one of the leading tree fruit and tree nut nurseries in central California, servicing over 7,000 growers globally with high quality trees. Burchell has a legacy in breeding best-in-class varieties of stone fruit for more than 30 years.

Burchell’s bred peaches and nectarines, Flame and Flare, respectively, are well-recognized in the industry for their flavor profile and consistent quality across multiple commodities throughout the season.
