Dominican Republic to Welcome Three International Hotels

Punta Cana, Samaná and Sosúa Hotel Projects Celebrated at 2019 Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange

SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, April 01, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- To help meet the needs of Dominican Republic’s ever-growing tourism industry, three hotels announced plans to invest, expand and update properties and technology at the annual Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE) in Punta Cana. Enhancements will further improve the in-country experience and better serve visitors to key touristic areas of the country, including Puerto Plata, Punta Cana and Samaná.

Be Live Hotels Launches Adults-Only Concept
Be Live Hotels, the chain belonging to the hotel division of Grupo Globalia, reinforced its commitment to Dominican Republic by celebrating the grand opening of its seventh in-country property, Be Live Collection Punta Cana Adults-Only. The 24 million-dollar property is located on the Bávaro Lagoon.

This property, which officially opened in December 2018, focuses on meeting the needs of travelers seeking a modern and upscale experience. The Be Live Collection Punta Cana Adults-Only offers 403 spacious and comfortable rooms with an exclusive environment for couples, friends and adults, where they can enjoy ultimate relaxation. Guests of the new establishment have access to a wide range of culinary and luxury amenities, including premium VIP services with personalized check-in and check-out capabilities, swimming pools, 11 restaurants, private access to Punta Cana’s world-famous beaches, and more.

Be Live Hotels promotes tourism across Dominican Republic with more than 3,200 total rooms throughout its seven properties in Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, La Romana and Puerto Plata.

Amhsa Marina Hotels & Resorts Invests in the North Coast of Dominican Republic
Amhsa Marina has invested more than $25 million in facility and technology updates for its luxury Casa Marina Beach & Reef hotel in Sosúa. The charming and innovative updates include a modern beach and poolside bars, a tranquil Bliss Spa, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and lively disco. The lobby and rooms were transformed with contemporary decoration and fixtures.

In addition to the facilities, the cuisine offerings also underwent renovations with the addition of the gourmet international restaurant Hermann, complementing the existing five restaurants.

To make it easier for hotel guests to use the amenities and services that are available to them, the resort group announced the launch of a new mobile app where guests can make reservations for rooms and restaurants, purchase services and receive information on activities within the hotel and the destination. In the introduction phase, those who download the application can enjoy offers and discounts that can be used at the hotel.

Viva Wyndham Expands in Dominican Republic
As a direct result of the increase in tourism to Dominican Republic’s north coast, Viva Wyndham is adding an additional 34 rooms to its all-inclusive Samaná property.

The adults-only resort located in the beach town of Las Terrenas in Samaná will welcome 34 new units, complete with thatched-roof bungalows, private plunge pools, bathrooms with rain showers, upgraded mini bars, 24-hour room service and free Wi-Fi.

The bungalows will be located steps away from the Viva Wyndham’s Coconut Whispers spa; all guests in the bungalows will receive complimentary foot massages at the spa, along with added perks like cocktail and cooking classes, beach waiter service and a welcome cocktail event.

This expansion is in advance of the XTERRA competition to be held on the shores of Cosón Beach August 31 – September 1, 2019. XTERRA is a world championship qualifying triathlon which includes a 5, 10- or 21-kilometer trail run through the lush terrain of Samaná, further establishing Dominican Republic as an adventure hub.

These announcements will contribute to the 65 projects already approved for 2019 reported by ASONAHORES, who noted Dominican Republic is projected to add 11 new properties between 2019 and 2022 in regions including Michès, La Romana, Barahona, Santo Domingo, among others.

This year’s DATE conference was held March 27th at BlueMall PuntaCana. DATE welcomes international tourism operators and professionals to discuss business plans for the year with 150 of the country’s leading tourism suppliers.
