Mission Solutions Group, Inc. Announces Formation of its Board of Advisors


North Charleston, SC, April 04, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via NEWMEDIAWIRE -- Mission Solutions Group (“MSG”), Inc., a Delaware Corporation, announced today that it has completed formation of its Board of Advisors to provide strategic advice to company leadership as it continues to realize ongoing sales and profitability growth.    

The MSG Board of Advisors includes: LTG (Ret) Tom Spoehr, Ms. Megan Stifel, and COL (Ret) Chris Costa. “We are tremendously pleased to stand up our Board of Advisors during the last year.  I am extremely confident they can further our pursuit of Perfect Information Exchange (PIE) across our verticals by bringing their collective experience to bear in helping us craft and execute strategies in the communications, cybersecurity, and intelligence arenas. COL Costa was a career Army intelligence officer with over 34 years of progressive national security experience and well-documented success in strategic policy, special operations, counterintelligence, and human intelligence culminating his Government service in 2017-2018 as the Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Counterterrorism on the National Security Council.  Prior to his White House assignment, COL Costa spent over three decades in Special Operations and Intelligence as both an Army officer and a civil servant. He served with Army Special Forces, U.S. Army Intelligence, Navy SEAL, and with other US Special Operations Forces.  He is a member of the USSOCOM Commando Hall of Honor for extraordinary service to Special Operations.  “I am very pleased to join the MSG Board of Advisors to do my part to help the company develop and execute strategy around the Intelligence aspects of Perfect Information Exchange” said Mr. Costa, who now serves as the Executive Director of the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC.     

Ms. Megan Stifel is an attorney and the founder of Silicon Harbor Consultants, a firm that provides strategic cybersecurity policy advice and counsel.  She is a Nonresident Senior Fellow with the Atlantic Council’s Cyber Statecraft Initiative and a Visiting Fellow at the National Security Institute at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia School of Law. She most recently served as Cybersecurity Policy Director at Public Knowledge and Senior Policy Advisor at Technology for Global Security.  Ms. Stifel left federal government service in 2014 after serving as a Director of International Cyber Policy at the White House National Security Council.  Prior to her service in the White House, Ms. Stifel served in the U.S. Department of Justice as Director for Cyber Policy in the National Security Division and as counsel in the Criminal Division’s Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section.  In commenting about the Board of Advisors membership, Ms. Stifel said, “I am looking forward to continued service as an Advisor to Mission Solutions Group as it continues to evolve and execute its strategy around the development and propagation of products and services devoted to enhancing cybersecurity across the nation.” 

Rounding out the Board of Advisors is LTG Tom Spoehr.  LTG Spoehr was a career Army officer with over 35 years of uniformed service with a variety of command and staff positions at all levels of the Army.  Highlights included service as the Director of the Army Office of Business Transformation driving enterprise-wide business practices to achieve maximum Army readiness in the most efficient way possible; Director of the Army Program Analysis & Evaluation (PAE) overseeing the management of the Army’s Five-Year Financial Plan; and Deputy Commanding General of US Forces Iraq leading the effort to exit U.S. forces from military operations in Iraq.  Following retirement from the Army, he stepped into his current role as Director, Center for National Defense at The Heritage Foundation focused on research, publication, and education programs relating to national security matters.  “I am very excited about helping Mission Solutions Group’s leadership in crafting and executing campaigns to further the attainment of Perfect Information Exchange in the context of the current and future national security environment,” said LTG Spoehr.
