JAGGAER’s Enterprise Reagent Chemical Management Solution 9.4 Expands “One Stop Shop” Capabilities for Biopharma and Research Labs

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., April 24, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- JAGGAER, the world’s largest independent spend management company today announces the release of Enterprise Reagent Manager (ERM) 9.4, JAGGAER’s industry leading chemical inventory management solution, in use by 9 of top 15 and 12 of top 25 global life sciences organizations. The new enhancements expand material management and health and safety capabilities into a revised user interface and architecture, aimed at fulfilling every research facility chemical management need.

“The system was designed from the ground up to simplify inventory acquisition and management, enabling our researchers to focus on their work,” said Ron Moraski, Director of Procurement Services, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, America’s first technological research university, and an ERM customer.

JAGGAER’s ERM is designed specifically for the needs of wet labs, with customers seeing an average annual savings of 20-25% on their chemical spend, as well as reduced risk from the liability of maintaining expired materials. ERM allows scientific staff throughout the organization to find, source and track commercial and proprietary chemicals, reagents and lab supplies from a single application. ERM also optimizes inventory use and promotes regulatory compliance while managing the risks associated with hazardous materials. A complete data sheet on ERM can be found here.

Select features of ERM 9.4:
ERM provides a new level of advance visibility and access control for items entering the lab inventory.  Integrated data capture throughout the acquisition and management life cycle enhances compliance and improves data accuracy, for simpler and more timely and accurate reporting.

Material class definitions: In order to provide a true “one-stop-shop” for researchers, many research organizations include lab supplies, biological materials, and other non-chemical products in the ERM catalog search, but do not necessarily want to create material profiles, and/or track containers for these items.  Also, some non-chemical items that require tracking may have additional different data field requirements. In ERM 9.4, these capabilities are addressed via client-definable Material classes.

Hazard Data: ERM 9.4 expands the material profile to support transport hazard data elements.  Transport hazard classification information is important for moving products on open roads, as may be required, for example, between certain buildings on a corporate or university campus.  This information can also be useful in determining storage requirements.

Hazard Attributes: New hazard attributes have been added to the ERM material profile for “Hazard”, “Toxin”, or “Select Agent”.  These attributes can be automatically assigned from JAGGAER supplier catalog data or via association with an EHS list in ERM.   New standard approval types enable purchase request items with these hazards to require approvals, either in ERM or in JAGGAER eProcurement workflow.

EHS lists can now also automatically assign storage codes to materials, making ERM’s storage compatibility checking more streamlined and comprehensive.
