San Francisco, CA, May 15, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Broadway Records and No Bully released the charity single "I Have A Voice", featuring over 75 Broadway kids, as a People Magazine exclusive premiere. This song was written to ignite student compassion and build voices of tolerance and empathy. The anti-bullying nonprofit and No Bully ambassador Wé McDonald, a finalist on Season 11 of NBC's The Voice, teamed up to invite schools to perform and share their "I Have A Voice" video, in a musical competition sponsored by Hasbro’s BE FEARLESS BE KIND initiative. The panel of judges selected, by majority vote, Kinard Core Knowledge Middle School as the contest winner. Kinard students will receive a special concert from Wé McDonald at the Lincoln Center in Fort Collins, CO on May 15th at 7 pm MT.
The show is expected to sell out with over 1,150 seats for students, parents, school administrators, and the general public. Scott Wheeler, Kinard’s Choir Director, has planned a lively evening Program with four student choirs performing alongside Wé McDonald. The grand finale will be the choirs coming together on stage and singing “I Have a Voice” with McDonald.
“The thing that stuck with me, besides the song being beautiful, was the fact that this song is about finding your voice and the prize was about another singer finding her voice and joining us on stage to sing this song together,” said Wheeler. “What an opportunity to show the world what we can do on a digital and global stage with one unified voice!”
Hasbro and No Bully have worked together since 2015 to take a proactive step in the national fight against bullying, helping to create positive environments that make the world a better place for children and their families. Kevin Colman, Director of Global Philanthropy and Social Impact, Hasbro, Inc., will be on site at the event highlighting Hasbro’s signature philanthropic initiative, BE FEARLESS BE KIND. The program is designed to inspire and empower kids to have the compassion, empathy and courage to stand up for others and be inclusive throughout their lives, dovetailing with No Bully’s programs.
