Ms. Maturine Carlot-Tary possesses a strong background in health science with a diploma in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition from the Fiji School of Medicine and Bachelor of Arts double major in Economics and Human Biosciences from the University of New England. While serving as the Director of Health Planning and Administration for the Ministry of Health in Vanuatu, she gained valuable experience in supervising the following sections: Finance, Human Resources, Health Research & Ethics, WHO open Learning, Vanuatu Centre for Nursing Education, Health Planning, Health Projects, Donor Coordination, Health Information Systems, Central Medical Stores and Pharmacy. In her other role as Director General of Health for the Vanuatu Ministry of Health, Ms. Maturine Carlot-Tary met with diplomatic corporate partners to address global health issues in Vanuatu, the Pacific and the world. She has presented various Health Papers in the country and overseas. She also held the position of Chairperson of the Vanuatu Medical and Ethics Research Committee and utilized her dietetics training to provide clients with individualized diet counseling to promote improved overall health. She coordinated the Vanuatu 2nd National Nutrition Survey 1996 co-authors with University of Queensland Epidemiologists and the Vanuatu National Non-Communicable Disease Survey 1998 co-authors with SPC Noumea.
