BioDelivery Sciences Named to the Russell 3000® Index

Recognition is a Result of Company’s Performance over the Last 12 Months

RALEIGH, N.C., June 20, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- BioDelivery Sciences International, Inc. (NASDAQ: BDSI) is set to be added to the broad-market Russell 3000® Index as well as the Russell 2000® Index at the conclusion of the 2019 Russell indexes annual reconstitution, effective July 1, 2019, according to a preliminary list of additions posted June 7, 2019.

The annual Russell indexes reconstitution captures the 4,000 largest US stocks as of May 10, 2019, ranking them by total market capitalization. Membership in the US all-cap Russell 3000 Index, which remains in place for one year, means automatic inclusion in the Russell 2000 Index, as well as in the appropriate growth and value style indexes. FTSE Russell determines membership for its Russell indexes primarily by objective, market-capitalization ranking, and style attributes.

"We are very proud to have been named to the Russell 3000 and 2000 indexes and congratulate all of our employees for their extraordinary work and achievements over the last year,” stated Herm Cukier, CEO of BDSI.  “We have made great strides in transforming the Company into a rapidly growing commercial enterprise, remain dedicated to sustaining this positive trajectory, and welcome the heightened visibility and opportunity resulting from inclusion in these widely followed benchmarks.”

Russell indexes are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors as the basis for index funds and as benchmarks for active investment strategies. Approximately $9 trillion in assets are benchmarked against Russell’s US indexes. Russell indexes are part of FTSE Russell, a leading global index provider.
