IBC2019: Agama extends end-to-end assurance and analytics solution with SDI support

(Linköping, Sweden, September 4, 2019) – Agama Technologies, the specialist in video service quality and customer experience, is extending its end-to-end assurance and analytics solution with SDI support, making it possible to assure the quality of video streams even earlier in the head-end production workflow. The new SDI support will be showcased at IBC2019.

The fully software-based Agama Analyzer now supports monitoring and assurance of uncompressed SDI (Serial Digital Interface) content. This makes it possible to assure the quality of video streams even earlier in the head-end production workflow, creating visibility into the pre-encoding stage.

“The addition of SDI support in the Analyzer product family gives the Agama video assurance solution true glass-to-glass capabilities. This makes it possible to monitor and assure everything from the creation of uncompressed raw live feeds, through processing and delivery, to consumption in each and every set-top box, smart TV or mobile video app – all in one solution with full end-to-end overviews”, explains Johan Görsjö, Director of Product Management at Agama Technologies.

This new feature enables the use of DekTec input cards such as the DTA-2174 to receive and analyze SD-, HD- and 3G-SDI inputs. The analysis includes confidence monitoring functionality such as thumbnail and audio bar presentation through the Live Mosaic view as well as detection of black screen, freeze frame and silence conditions with alarming. A color-coded Quality of Experience rating is also generated, for comparison and correlation with the rest of the delivery chain.
