The Kemira-owned Tikkurila Paints Oy with its Italian subsidiary Spetra s.r.l. have sold the trademarks used for the Fractalis program and Private Label arrangements, together with the related technology. The deal leaves Spetra focused on manufacturing under the ownership of Tikkurila.
Starting from 1 February 2000, the Fractalis and Private Label businesses are managed by Create s.r.l., which will focus on R&D plus sales and marketing, while contracting Spetra for the toll manufacturing of products. The new deal offers both Create and Spetra good opportunities to concentrate on their respective business areas and work closely using the strengths of the two companies.
Fractalis is a registered trademark for an extensive range of finishes and effects for interior decoration. With a technology patented in 1985, Fractalis is today the leading brand of water-based fashion finishes worldwide. Furthermore, both the Fractalis program and Private Label arrangements comprise numerous leading companies all over the world.
Mr GianLuca Vernizzi, who has served Spetra s.r.l. since 1991, has been appointed President of Create s.r.l. Mr Raimo Laamanen, who has held the position of Vice President at Spetra since 1999, has been appointed Managing Director of Spetra s.r.l. as of 1 February 2000.
