Information Highway-now a strategic partner of Norway's Dagens Næringsliv

As its first assignment, Information Highway will develop an entirely new version of Dagens Næringsliv's Web service, www.dn.no. The service will contain a range of attractive tools for users, for example providing access to an electronic text and image archive spanning eleven years. This implies that the solution will largely be based on neural network technology, a technique for pattern recognition that enables sophisticated information retrieval. Individualisation will also be a key element of the service.

In connection with the assignment, Information Highway will ensure the reliability of information flows and develop Internet solutions for other parts of the group. Norges Handels og Sjøfartstidende's publications also encompass the oil, gas and maritime shipping sectors as well as a financial news agency.

Information Highway won the deal against fierce competition from players including Icon Medialab. The feasibility study encompassed a needs analysis for the entire group.

Dagens Næringsliv has a daily readership of more than 300,000 and is Norway's biggest financial publication.
