The Jaakko Pöyry Group and Skanska have established a 50/50 owned company named JP-Skanska Water Oy.

JP-Skanska Water Oy supplements the Jaakko Pöyry Group’s and Skanska’s comprehensive service mix with a concept offering clients a complete range of services related to operation and maintenance of waste water and raw water treatment plants. Starting up in Finland, the new company will later expand its operations to other markets.

Ms. Tuija Pohjolainen, M.Sc. (Eng.), has been appointed President of the new company, which will be based in Vantaa.

In the Skanska Group, a recently established company, Skanska Econet Oy, is responsible for development of services related to environmental technology. It owns 50 per cent of JP-Skanska Water Oy. In the Jaakko Pöyry Group, responsibility for development of water treatment and environmental technology lies with Soil and Water Ltd in Finland, with the new company supplementing its comprehensive environmental know-how.

Skanska Econet Oy’s managing director Tom Schmidt:
"We believe that we are entering this market at the right moment and that we shall be able to offer industrial and municipal clients a range of services which has not yet been available in the market."
