ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES IN KEMIRA GROUP

The Kemira Oyj management board has decided to simplify the Group business structure. The titanium dioxide pigments business of Kemira Pigments Oy will be part of the Industrial Chemicals unit in Kemira Chemicals Oy. Kemira Pigments will continue as a separate company.

The following businesses will be moved from Kemira Chemicals to Kemira Agro: the Kemphos phosphorus, Bolifor animal feed phosphates and the SOP potassium sulphate business. In Kemira Chemicals, the Formics business unit will be moved from the Pulp & Paper Chemicals strategic business unit to the Industrial Chemicals SBU.

These changes in business structure are effective beginning 1 January 2001.

The management board decided to broaden the area of responsibility of Juhani Kari, Senior Vice President, currently responsible for Group legal affairs and risk management, to cover health, safety, and environmental issues at Group level. He will assume these duties effective 1 September 2000. Effective 1 September 2000, Aarno Salminen, V.P., currently responsible for environmental issues at Kemira, will report to Juhani Kari.
