Nokia Introduces New Security Appliance Delivering Enterprise-class Security to Corporate Satellite Offices

Nokia (NYSE:NOK) announced today the newest member of their network security appliance family, the Nokia IP110 platform for corporate satellite offices. Complementing their existing market-leading family of security platforms, the Nokia IP110 platform is specially designed for the corporate satellite business that requires a full VPN/firewall solution. This simplifies the security policy implementation process and typical hardware/software integration complexities.

The IP110 appliance offers robust, full featured Check Point (NASDAQ: CHKP) VPN-1/FireWall-1 protection, tightly integrated on the trusted Nokia IP Network Security platform. The IP110, is pre-configured and tested for rapid deployment and supports a comprehensive suite of IP routing protocols and remote management capabilities. It comes equipped with three standard 10/100 Ethernet ports, is desktop or wall mountable, and 100% supported by Nokia’s world class “First Call-Final Resolution” technical support.

“Until now, corporations have focused their security efforts on their data centers and larger corporate locations. They have struggled, however, to extend their security policy to satellite locations thereby risking potential security breaches,” said Dan MacDonald, vice president & general manager, Nokia Internet Communications. “The Nokia IP110 provides corporate customers the ability to extend security policies out to their remote corporate office delivering the same level of security that large corporate offices deploy, while ensuring rapid deployment and maintaining the simplicity and compactness that a corporate satellite office requires.”

The Nokia IP110 is a clear winner for remote corporate offices, Nokia’s value added resellers (VAR’s) and managed service provider (MSP) channel partners alike. It is an attractive, affordable, compact offering, delivering an enterprise-class security solution to protect and extend networks supporting corporate satellite locations (typically 10-50 users), allowing IT managers and network administrators to focus on the security policy rather than the complexities of getting their system up and running.

"We are pleased to expand our partnership with Nokia with the release of VPN-1/FireWall-1 on the new Nokia IP110 appliance platform," said Asheem Chandna, vice president of business development and product management for Check Point Software Technologies. "Nokia can now enable Check Point Internet security solutions that reach from the corporate data center to the corporate satellite.”

Nokia IP Network Security Solutions combine market-leading security software and world class IP routing delivering high-performance network security solutions. Whether in need of an entry level security appliance ideal for securing the corporate satellite office, or a solution designed for the medium and large business needs for high availability applications, Nokia offers a full range of network security appliances to meet your toughest security challenges.
