Nokia introduces the Nokia 505 mobile phone for ETACS networks


Nokia has today announced a Nokia 505 analog mobile phone for ETACS networks in Malaysia. The Nokia 505 is a compact and stylish phone equipped with the famous Nokia Navi(TM) key. The Navi(TM)key innovation anticipates the intuitive logic of the user, making for fast and easy use of phone features. Designed to look good and feel good in the hand, the Nokia 505 has a comfortable tapered form, large display window, and ergonomical keypad layout with big keys. Xpres-on(TM) colored covers offer users the possibility to personalize their phone. The Nokia 505 will be available in December 2000.

The Nokia 505 menu supports 6 language options: English, German, Italian, Spanish, Bahasa Malaysia, and Tagalog. Furthermore, it contains 60 memory locations for saving names and numbers. Users can choose among 20 different ring tones and 4 different colored covers to personalize the sound and look of their phone. The Nokia 505 also has five ringing volumes, as well as a calculator and countdown timer with alarm.

With a slim battery, the standby time of the Nokia 505 is up to 45 hours and the talk time up to 4 hours. The phone weighs 142 g with a slim battery. Accessories are compatible with many Nokia GSM phone accessories and include chargers, batteries, vehicle accessories, desktop stands, headset, and belt clip.
