Nokia Nomination Committee Proposal for Composition of the Board

Iiro Viinanen and Jouko K. Leskinen, members of the Nokia Board, will not stand for re-election to the Board of Directors of Nokia Corporation. Mr Viinanen has been member of the Nokia Board since 1996. He served as vice chairman until 2000. Mr Leskinen has been member of the Board since 1994.
The Nomination Committee has prepared a proposal for composition of the Nokia Board of Directors, which it will make to the Annual General Meeting on March 21, 2001. According to the proposal the number of Board members be eight and the following persons be re-elected for a term of one year: Paul J. Collins, Georg Ehrnrooth, Bengt Holmström, Jorma Ollila, Robert F.W. van Oordt and Vesa Vainio. Moreover, the Committee proposes that Marjorie Scardino and Arne Wessberg be elected as new members of the Nokia Board for the next one-year term. Ms Scardino is the Chief Executive of the international media group Pearson plc and Mr Wessberg the President of Yleisradio Oy (Finnish Broadcasting Company).
