Wide Learning Appoints ex-Walt Disney VP as Vice President, Operations, Creative Content

LONDON & NEW YORK, March 2, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Wide Learning, Europe's leading supplier of e-learning solutions to the financial services industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Marshall as Vice President, Operations, Creative Content. Marshall is responsible for the production of creative content for Wide Learning's global training programs.

Marshall has more than 20 years experience in the changing new media and television environment. Highlights of his career include Head of Department for the BBC TV Outside Broadcast Group, Events and Entertainments Department, Managing Director of Buena Vista Productions Ltd., and Vice President of The Walt Disney Co.

As Vice President of The Walt Disney Co., Marshall was responsible for international production of creative content as well driving the synergy of the Walt Disney consumer brands on international TV. In addition to the established children's TV shows, he set up the structure to produce events and specials, international documentaries and children's dramas; this content was revised as appropriate for different markets as well as for other forms of new media.

Marshall commented on his appointment: "There is a lot more to online training than putting a textbook on the Internet. Wide Learning is already a cut above the rest in being innovative with the content of its training packages. I plan to take the products to a higher level of creative sophistication, reworking the content for global markets and new mediums."

Luke Montagu, founder, added: "Tim's experience in strategic content management is second to none. His work across a number of international markets will be key to the rollout of our learning packages into new and existing markets. We are currently focused on developing the creative content for our online and offline training programs and look forward to the challenge of moving our training into new mediums (such as) interactive TV."
