It has come to the knowledge of Jaakko Pöyry Group Oyj that Mr. Franz Steinegger, LL.Lic., Attorney-at-Law (57) will be proposed as a new member of the Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting on Thursday, March 8, 2001. Shareholders owning at least 20 per cent of the shares and voting rights of the company are in favour of the proposal. The person in question has given his consent to the nomination.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Steinegger has been a member of the Swiss parliament since 1980 and also acted as the chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party since 1989. He is trusted with several important positions including the following:
