Nokia chosen as total system supplier for Telia Mobile's 3G network in Finland

The Letter of Intent is part of a recently announced pan-Nordic 3G network frame agreement between leading Nordic telecom operator, Telia and Nokia. As part of the agreement Nokia will also supply its 3G WCDMA Radio Access Solution to NetCom in Norway, with an additional option for Denmark subject to licence.
This agreement will enable Telia Mobile to strengthen its position in the Finnish market and build on its business by offering state-of-the-art mobile Internet services to subscribers with a cost efficient 3G network.
"With this agreement with Nokia Telia Mobile will be able to further consolidate its position in the highly competitive Finnish markets by offering subscribers attractive and cutting edge mobile Internet services and applications with Nokia's advanced and cost-effective 3G network solution," said Vesa Mars, Director, Telia Mobile in Finland.

Nokia's 3G infrastructure is based on open standards, platforms and interfaces, critical for a smooth evolution to commercial 3G services in a multi-vendor network. It includes integrated end-to-end solutions covering charging, security, network management and service control applications.
