Atomic, part of Amer Group Plc, has decided to build a new research and development centre for winter sports equipment in Altenmarkt, Austria.
In recent years, Atomic has established itself as a technological leader in the winter sports market. This new investment is being made to maintain the company's strong position for the future.
Atomic is also excited about its "Atomic Snow System", its concept to develop and promote a perfect and harmonised combination of skis, ski bindings and ski boots. The new R&D centre will help to bring this Atomic Snow System to the next level of development.
In addition, the research centre will continue to provide innovative products for all Atomic athletes; including alpine skiers, cross-country skiers, ski jumpers and snowboarders. Atomic provides athletes with highly competitive products and is constantly making improvements, in order to benefit all winter sports participants.
"This investment in a new research and development centre will enable us to maintain our technological leadership in the winter sports market. We will continue to concentrate on creating new and better products for everyone who loves winter sports, from top athletes to leisure time participants", states Mr Michael Schineis, Managing Director of Atomic Austria GmbH.
The new R&D centre will be in use towards the end of autumn 2001.
