djuice™ and Nokia to cooperate in developing mobile Internet solutions

Telenor’s mobile Internet portal, djuice™, and Nokia Networks have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) for a co-operation on mobile Internet solutions. According to the LoI, the Nokia mPlatform Solution as well as new mobile Internet solutions emerging from the co-operation will be implemented in djuice™ mobile portal operations world-wide. The two companies will build on each other's expertise in order to offer the best and most user-friendly mobile Internet solutions to the customers of djuice(TM).

In the initial phase of the co-operation Nokia mPlatform Solution will be implemented as the enabling platform for djuice(TM)'s mobile portal services in Norway. The companies will also work together in the service creation center located in Oslo with the focus on further developing mobile Internet services specifically for djuice(TM).

"This co-operation with Nokia will give us the opportunity to have a stronger focus on our core business within new applications and end user solutions. Through our discussions with Nokia on the future of mobile Internet, we are confident that we have found the perfect match for our ambitions with djuice(TM)," said Jon Erik Haug, Vice President, djuice™.

During the last year, djuice™ has developed one of the world’s most advanced mobile Internet portals, ranked as number one in a report by Forrester comparing the 50 most important portals in Europe in November 2000. At present, djuice™ has been launched in Norway, Thailand and Malaysia and will be launched in Portugal later this year. New markets will follow in 2001 and 2002 as the rollout of djuice's(TM) mobile Internet services continues.

"Nokia shares the vision of the future of mobile Internet with djuice™. We look forward to working with the djuice™ experts in developing new, exciting mobile services and applications on Nokia's state-of-the-art platform. Our target is to be the leading creator and provider of enabling mobile multimedia and Internet application platforms and this co-operation further enhances that aim," said Morten Graesli, Nokia Networks, Norway.
