GoAntiques Launches Channel Syndication Program; OldHouseWeb and Interiorworld.com Become Affilliates

BATON ROUGE, La., April 30, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- GoAntiques (www.GoAntiques.com), the Internet's leading solution source for the antiques industry, has announced the launch of two new Channel Syndication programs, according to company CEO Ken Buhler. Separate deals with OldHouseWeb.com and InteriorWorld.com were finalized and released last week.

Both strategic partnerships involve the sharing of GoAntiques' Website content on the affiliates' sites. By clicking on the "antique shop" tab on the OldHouseWeb.com site, or the "shopping tab" on InteriorWorld.com, buyers have the ability to shop more than $83 million in art and antiques inventory. This aids the partners by supplying them with self-branded content for shoppers, and it extends GoAntiques' reach into its target demographic.

Both OldHouseWeb.com and Interiorworld.com share similar visitor demographic profiles as those visiting GoAntiques. OldHouseWeb.com, established in January 1999, is a community site that showcases information and resources for old house enthusiasts. It features articles and information on remodeling, do-it-yourself repairs, decorating tips, and more. Interiorworld.com is an online decorating magazine with articles, feature stories, resources, ideas and advice on home decorating.

The concept is not new to GoAntiques. According to Buhler, a beta test of the idea has existed with antiquesmag.com, the online version of Art & Antiques Magazine, since January.

"Our content distribution model was developed to share the inventory of our member dealers, which is unique, with sites that we have had on our radar," said Buhler. "The channel syndication adds value to the OldHouseWeb.com and InteriorWorld.com sites, along with a revenue share they earn from purchases. In addition it gives the GoAntiques Network membership greater exposure for their online inventory. It's really a win-win."

Kendall Holmes is The Old House Web's publisher and creative director: "We are excited about the idea, especially from a demographic point of view. Our site viewers are passionate about their old houses, and adding antiques and collectibles to the mix of offerings on our site will enhance their experience. After all, it's the things that go into a house that make it a home."

Lanaya Houlden, Owner/Publisher of Interiorworld.com, agrees: "We are very successful at providing feature content and advice, and resources for our site visitors, and this new channel will enhance those offerings even more. We expect the antiques and collectibles module to be a foundational part of our business plan from this point forward."

The GoAntiques Network of Websites includes GoAntiques.com, Antiqnet.com, Buycollectibles.com and AntiqnetAuctions.com. The company was established in 1999 with network sites dating as far back as 1995. Today the network hosts thousands of members and more than $83 million in antiques and collectibles inventory.
