Appointment at Ahold European Public Affairs

Zaandam, The Netherlands, May 3, 2001 - At Ahold in The Netherlands Philip den Ouden has been appointed Director Public Affairs Europe, effective April 16, 2001. He comes from Smit International, a maritime services provider. Earlier in his career he held senior management positions at a non-governmental organization and in the international educational field, working closely with various governments. He studied economics at Rotterdam University. In his new position at Ahold Corporate Communications, based in Zaandam, The Netherlands, he will closely work with management teams of Ahold companies and joint venture partners in now 9 European countries.
