Wolters Kluwer names Christopher Ainsley as new CEO for its International Health & Science


 
Wolters Kluwer nv announced today that the Executive Board appointed Christopher Ainsley to the position of President and CEO of its International Health & Science cluster (sales in 2000: EUR 752 million). Mr. Ainsley, a 10-year veteran of Wolters Kluwer companies, most recently was Vice President of Business Development for Wolters Kluwer. He succeeds Herman Pabbruwe, who has accepted a position as senior advisor for Wolters Kluwer in the USA.

'He has an extensive background in analyzing complex businesses, in working with managers to create a strategic vision, and in quickly implementing business plans and obtaining excellent results.'
'Christopher has an enormous pool of managerial talent, well respected brands, and quality content within the IHS cluster,' Yarrington added. 'We strongly believe that the current health, pharmaceutical, and science markets provide us with good opportunities to improve the performance of this cluster.'
As Vice President of Business Development, Mr. Ainsley focused specifically on identifying and formulating opportunities for organic growth among Wolters Kluwer's global businesses and has just completed and delivered a blueprint for improving Wolters Kluwer's performance in this area. He also has been President and CEO of Croner.CCH Group, London, a provider of legal materials to professionals in Europe. Mr. Ainsley has held a number of key executive positions with CCH INCORPORATED, a leading provider of tax and business law information and software and Wolters Kluwer's largest operating company.
As publisher of CCH's large Business & Finance Group, he led an aggressive program to expand and transform the unit's loose-leaf, book, and journal content into profitable, value-added electronic products and tools for professionals in the securities, banking, and legal markets. He was responsible for identifying and integrating a number of successful software and publishing acquisitions into CCH.
The International Health & Science cluster includes many of the world's leading professional publishing and information services companies providing the best professional resources for health and science professionals and students.
