SCOR: Appointments Effective January 1, 2002


PARIS, Dec. 5, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- SCOR Group (NYSE:SCO). The following changes will be made to the Group Executive Committee, with effect from January 1, 2002:


 -- Romain Durand, 44, President and Chief Operating Officer of Group
    Life operations, and Member of the Group Executive Committee, will
    be appointed Group Executive Vice President of SCOR.

Romain Durand, a graduate of HEC, Sciences Po (Paris) and the Centre des Hautes Etudes d'Assurances, started his career in Life Insurance in 1983 with GMF Life as Vice-President, Commercial. In 1986, he joined Norwich Union France as Marketing and Sales Manager, then in 1992 became Chairman and Managing Director of La Baloise France. In 1997, he joined SCOR as Managing Director of the Group's Life operations.


 -- Jerome Faure, 43, President and CEO of SCOR US, will join the
    Group Executive Committee. He will coordinate the Group's North
    American Property & Casualty activities, with the exception of
    Commercial Risk Partners (CRP).

Jerome Faure, a graduate engineer from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Techniques Avancees, and a Master of Science from the University of Illinois, joined SCOR in Paris in 1988. In 1989, he moved to Tokyo to head the Japan office and in 1994 was appointed Managing Director of SCOR's UK operations. In 1997, he became Executive Vice President of SCOR US. He was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of SCOR US in July 2000.


 -- Jerome Karter will leave the Group Executive Committee to become
    Advisor to the Chairman; he will remain as Vice Chairman of the
    Board of SCOR US until his retirement on June 30, 2002.
