United Online Offers a Free Preview of its Juno Platinum Pay Internet Service; Marks the First Time Juno Users Can Experience Juno's Pay Service for Free

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Jan. 11, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- United Online, Inc. (Nasdaq:UNTD), a leading Internet service provider that commenced operations in September 2001 with the merger of NetZero and Juno Online Services, is offering consumers a chance to experience Free Preview Weekends of Juno Platinum -- Juno's $9.95 monthly subscription Internet service featuring no banner ad window -- every weekend in January. This promotion is running simultaneously with Free Preview Weekends of NetZero Platinum, NetZero's $9.95 monthly subscription Internet service.

To take advantage of this offer, consumers can download the Juno software by visiting www.juno.com. Starting Friday, January 11, all users who log on to the free service during the weekends in January will experience Juno Platinum at no cost during the stated Preview times. The previews will begin each Friday at 12:00 noon (EST) and will end at 12:00 noon (EST) each Monday.

Unlike the Juno Free Internet service, the Juno Platinum service does not contain an advertising window and gives users the Ultimate Internet experience for only $9.95 per month -- less than half the cost of other popular ISPs such as AOL and Earthlink. Juno Platinum provides highly reliable Internet access services featuring fast page loads, free e-mail, compatibility with popular instant messaging programs and thousands of dial-up access numbers nationwide.

"United Online has extended its Free Preview Weekends promotion to Juno's pay service, Juno Platinum, and it marks the first time Juno users have the opportunity to experience the quality of this service at no cost," said Brian Woods, executive vice president and chief marketing officer. "We continue to believe that the best selling tool for our pay services is the service itself. Juno users will find that Juno Platinum offers a complete Internet experience at a very reasonable price."
