Nokia launches new service solutions for operators at the 3GSM Congress in Cannes

At the 3GSM Congress in Cannes, France, Nokia has launched two operator service solutions, the Nokia GPRS Extended Network Survey and the Nokia Dynamic WCDMA Simulation Consultancy. These new service packages reinforce the company's commitment to enable networks to deliver improved speed, capacity and service performance with enhanced Quality of Service for GPRS and WCDMA.

Nokia GPRS Network Survey
This service package consists of a survey that helps operators evaluate the performance of their GPRS network, so they can make the most of multimedia messaging services (MMS). It is a modular package of services, tools and competence development for surveying, analyzing and improving the configuration and performance of a GPRS network. GPRS Network Survey helps operators undertake a successful service launch and improve the positioning of their services for future growth. By enabling the proper dimensioning of the network, the survey raises the performance of end-user services, thus supporting higher service quality and end-user satisfaction.

Nokia Dynamic WCDMA Simulation Consultancy
With the Nokia Dynamic WCDMA Simulation Consultancy, operators can anticipate the performance of their network before it is even launched or before new software releases are implemented in the network. Designed to simulate real-life traffic conditions, this package of tools and consultancy provides critical information for optimizing parameters to improve the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of WCDMA networks. Furthermore, a better level of network performance can be achieved in a shorter time. The Dynamic WCDMA Simulator is a Nokia-specific tool using Nokia radio-access network (RAN) algorithms. Only Nokia is able to offer this dynamic WCDMA simulation service at such a level of detail to operators using Nokia's RAN.

"The communications industry seeks increased growth, and mobile operators want to make the most of their networks and services," says Matti Makkonen, Senior Vice President, Nokia Networks. "Based on Nokia's demonstrated success with various technologies and networks, we are well placed to help operators protect their network investment, optimize their solutions and thus boost network usage and ARPU."
