Matchframe Invests in Digital Visions' Latest HD Grain and Noise Reducer

LOS ANGELES, March 21, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Digital Vision proudly announces the sale of a High Definition AGR-IV Grain and Noise Reducer to Matchframe Video.

Headquartered in Burbank, Calif., Matchframe Video is a full-service, post-production facility serving motion picture, television and multimedia clients for more than 18 years. Matchframe provides telecine, in-house and portable Avid offline editing systems, linear and nonlinear online editing, visual effects, graphics, audio, motion control, duplication and digital media delivery.

"Strategically, we were looking for a HD grain and noise reduction system that offered the best available technology and which could work in both film-to-tape and tape-to-tape applications," stated Michael Levy, Matchframe V.P./General Manager.

"The Digital Vision AGR-IV proved to be the right solution," explained Matchframe Senior Colourist Brian Hutchings. "We have a wide variety of clients with different film and video noise reduction requirements and AGR-IV gives us the flexibility to address all of them well."

"We have been working with Matchframe for a long time. We are proud to now include them as one of our most important High Definition customers in North America," said Thorbjorn Gustafsson, Managing Director at Digital Vision in Los Angeles. "This decision by Matchframe reflects Digital Visions' strong position as the leading provider for High Definition grain reduction in the post-production environment where real time processing and artefact free performance are imperative."

The AGR-IV is Digital Vision's fourth-generation, real-time film grain and electronic noise reducer that was released in late November of 2001. AGR-IV is designed for film or videotape restoration and MPEG pre-processing. The AGR-IV's advanced motion processing and newly developed adaptive 3-D filters, including an Edge Preserving Spatial Filter, allow facilities to produce even cleaner and sharper pictures from film and video originated material than ever before.

Digital Vision's business concept is to offer state-of-the-art technology and products to clients in film/video, multimedia and the distribution of digital television within three business areas:

* Media Mastering, e.g. the digital mastering of feature films, TV-shows and commercials and the adaptation of these to DVD

* Media Networking, the adaptation of images and sound to digital transmission networks

* Digital Cinema, the digitalization of traditional film for cinemas

Digital Vision was founded in 1988 and today the company is comprised of the Swedish parent company and a sales company in the U.S. The company is dedicated to the development, the production and the sales and support of systems. Production is primarily managed through outsourcing.

Digital Vision is listed on the Stockholm stock exchange.
